About Federica Ramacciotti

ABOUT

Ciao,

my name is Federica, I am a ceramist and nature lover.

In my workshop I create unique porcelain objects that tell the story of people and places, through the imprints that objects leave on the clay.

I believe in a rediscovered beauty, free of redundant noise and perfectly in tune with our needs and the bond we feel with each piece. That’s why I create a pure and simple object, and I consciously let the shape, material texture and colour interact with what’s around to release their energy and create the atmosphere.

I believe in a full but leisurely life, a life that follows the rhythms of nature and of our body. For this reason, also my ceramics, uniquely handmade, follow their season, respecting the pace given by the process of drying, shaping, firing and finishing of the products. It’s only by complying these needs that the magic takes place. The magic that transforms the clay into a pure and harmonious object, ready to get into your house.

I believe in a full experience of the world and I like to find out how, in each moment, we can celebrate the more pleasant side of life. More often than not, we almost take for granted the little pleasures, like a sunset, good food or the time spent with our family and friends. On this premise, I decided to embark on this creative journey to create essential objects that can help you celebrate the beauty of little and simple things.

ABOUT

Ciao,

My name is Federica Ramacciotti. I am a ceramist and, in my atelier, I create unique porcelain objects that will help you appreciate the simple and good things in everyday life.

I believe in a rediscovered beauty, free of redundant noise and perfectly in tune with our needs and the bond we feel with each piece. That’s why I create a pure and simple object, and I consciously let the shape, material, texture and colour interact with what’s around to release their energy and create the atmosphere.

I believe in dreams and that is why I am following mine.

And if you also believe even only in one of those things, go and have a look at what I can do for you and what we can do together…

Memoria is my investigation of the imprints that objects leave in the clay, engraved forever in the memory.

my life

my work

08.2011

First experience of life abroad that will lead me to become aware of myself, my needs and my will, speak out and fight for my dreams…

09.2012

One year is not enough. I decide to move to France to experience another adventure and learn another language. When you savor this freedom, there is no turning back.

10.2013

University begins: Product Design at the Politecnico di Milano.

01.2016

I am leaving for an experience that will change me deeply. My stay in Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, through the Erasmus project keeps me in close contact with nature, its rhythms, its wonders and constant reminder to listen to oneself and to the surrounding environment. Here, among other things, I rediscover the pleasure of creating things with my hands.

07.2016

After I’m back from my erasmus experience, while tackling my Thesis, I start attending pottery courses.

11.2016

After graduation, I am lucky enough to work in a styling studio in Milan. A very educational experience but the city with its rhythms is not for me. Working in a lab is much better :).

06.2017

I leave my mentors to undertake training in the workshop at Nathalie Derouet‘s atelier. Another year of life abroad; this time the destination is Brittany. Sea, surf, nature, outdoor life and lots and lots of ceramics.

04.2018

I return home and now the goal is only one: my lab.

Meanwhile, interest in a conscious life is renewed. I continue to experiment with the garden and to look for alternatives to a more consumeristic approach.

15.05.2018

Back from my apprenticeship, I decide to buy a ceramic wheel and some material to keep me going and improve.

06.2018

I spend the summer at high altitude at the Rifugio Chabod, a refuge up in the mountains, where I meet many inspiring people, each with their own story. Strong bonds are forged and new horizons expand with infinite possibilities.

20.11.2018

It’s not a ceramic studio until you have a kiln! The kiln is delivered and the adventure with #thekitchenatelier begins.

12.2018

Yes, this is also worthy of note :). At my side is Andrea, who supports and encourages me in the realization of my dream.

04.2019

It’s official, after finding a space, I can finally start this new journey in a studio.

06.2019

Another summer at Rifugio Chabod. Same place, new adventure.

01.04.2019

It’s official, after finding a space, I can finally start this new journey in a studio.

14.06.2019

The website is online and the catalogue is ready…

01.10.2019

..but it is only in October that I officially start presenting the collectionsLet it Bloom, Le cose belle and Compagni di viaggio.

05.12.2019

I am ready also for that: from now on, for those who want, I will be in your inbox with [slow tips]; my newsletter in which I send you small tips, suggestions and reflections to embrace a more slow-paced and aware life.

01.2020

As unexpected as it is fast, I am quickly moving once again to a new studio. I found myself catapulted into the studio where everything began, the place that for many years belonged to my mentors now is mine…

… But I soon realize that MEMORIA for me is much more than a game; it is my ceramic investigation into the footprints that objects leave in the earth, imprinting them forever in the memory.

A journey through the years, to discover my evolution and see the work created over time.
